UPDATE: Ready Steady Go!
NOTE: The website is most suitable for browing experiences on Opera, Google Chrome or Internet Explorer. Those viewing on mobile or on Safari will achieve a functional experience but some features will be unavailable.
Season 7b of #PopIndustry is just around the corner. Only ten days remain until we open the doors of yet another season and join the class of 2018 for their newest induction into the world of music. But, before that, there's a few exciting things we'd like to share with you!
As some of you know, the current Billlboard website is a new addition to #PopIndustry. Announced three weeks ago, many changes have been made and this post will discuss all the recent changes. Should you wish to look back and view the original additions, you may find them linked here.
Here's a full-list of ALL the changes made within the last three weeks:
[Home Page]: Recent Updates have now been changed to Featured Updates; those that we feel should have the most prominence.
[Home Page]: The addition of the "This Week in Music" section - replacing the previous Featured Releases. This section displays the top five singles and albums of the current chart-week. Click the scroll button to browse the top-ten instead. [NOTE: This feature is not available on Mobile browsing.]
[Home Page]: Additional products and services have been added to the slider on the front page.
[Home Page]: Some white space has been erased leading to a more compact and clean view.
[Updates]: A category view has now been implemented. Each type of article now has its own category which can be clicked on the right-hand side of the page, above the tag cloud.
[Updates]: All prior posts regarding the Cover Interviews, PI Awards and Season 7 Billboard Charts have been uploaded.
[Updates]: The Recent Posts field located at the top-right has been replaced by a Featured Posts list to display the most prominent searches.
[Updates]: A comment and rating box has been added to each individual post along with the option to tweet about this particular post. If possible, sign in with Twitter before using these features.
[Artists]: The Artist Galley and Artist Pages have undergone a complete revamp. Each artist page is now fully functional with a link to the Shop homepage and that artist's Twitter account (if applicable). The music galleries have been removed to boost performance, but can now be found under the Music section.
[Music Store]: Also undergoing a complete revamp, the Music Store now has a categories filter on the left-hand side, which allows users to filter releases by artist, release season, single, album, number-ones and nominees or winners of a PI Award. [NOTE: This feature is not available on Mobile browsing.]
[Music Store]: Also found on the Updates Blog, the comment and rating section can now be found on each individual product page allowing players to leave reviews on each other's work. Enjoy.
[Music Store]: All weekly releases from Season 1 though Season 7 have now been uploaded to the website. You can find them all at the Music Store!
[Bookings]: The booking calendar has been finalised for this season's events, along with specialised requirements for each booking type. Please use the Log-In button on the Bookings Page to create an account with the details of your #PI Twitter Account before booking. [NOTE: Do NOT book any appointments until October 22nd. Any appointments made prior to that date will be cancelled and removed].
[Mobile View]: Previously, the mobile view was far from the most functional feature of the site. We're pleased to announce that the mobile view is now up to an acceptable standard, however some features may be missing due to the functionality of Wix's inner-workings.
[The Charts Drive]: The Billboard Charts drive (accessible via the link on the menubar at the top-right of the page) has also undergone some transformation. The layout of some weekly charts, the All-Time Charts, the Chart Database and the Weekly Releases sheets have been updated. [NOTE: This is currently a work-in progress and therefore not complete.]
As previously stated, all weekly releases have now been uploaded. We would like to ask all former #PI players to research their artist's filter on the Music Store and forward any missing single covers / corrections of incorrect data to Billboard so we can continue to make the website better for all! In addition, the Charts Drive is a work-in-progress regarding some old Weekly Charts so bear with us as we roll-out more updates related to that in the coming months.
We would like to thank all of our Label Executives for the hard work put into the event, as well as all you guys who help make this event exciting, fresh and something to strive for. As always, feel free to leave suggestions for the future or comments on how you think we're doing. We'll see you all back here in TEN DAYS as #PopIndustry returns once more!
